The Big Unkle Heads Back Into The Studio

Philadelphia, PA – September 3, 2016 – The Big Unkle, (TBU) one of
Philadelphia’s premier, homegrown neo jazz funk fusion bands announced
today that they officially began laying down initial rhythm tracks at Philly
Jam Studios in NorthEast Philadelphia for their next album (title: tbd) to
be released in 2017.

The band stayed busy this past Winter and Spring by playing several
corporate & private affairs and many suburban and Center City
venuesincluding their highly praised, monthly stops at the City’s
landmark jazz hall, WarmDaddy’s in South Philly. Their summer schedule
touched down on the Jersey shore where they pulled off a string of shows
that made the local headlines in Long Beach Island, where the news
spread quickly that a new act was “making waves” at one of the city’s
most popular venues.  All of that and they still somehow found time to
honor their brand and their fans by giving back to the community performing at several annual benefits and nonprofit events.

Their first studio album, Evolution, on Toil Records was released earlier
this year will be reduced to select singles that will be strategically
recirculated to national and international markets throughout the
Christmas season while the new album is being recorded.

Band founder and bass player, John Henderson, says, “We are really
excited to get back into the studio. We spent a lot of time [in 2016]
doing shows, delivering good performances and trying hard to build up a
buzz, an honorable track record and a sincere and loyal fan base. They
inspire us and we can’t wait to show them exactly how much.”
